Trek to the Base Las Torres viewpoint, Patagonia’s most iconic trail

This is Patagonia’s most iconic trek and, for many travellers, the reason for the whole trip. We leave Puerto Natales early in private transport, with certified guides and trekking poles included.
The hike starts in the Hotel Las Torres area and works its way through lenga forest and streams, beneath the bulk of Monte Almirante Nieto. The trail climbs steadily to 870 m above sea level, and the final section, over loose boulders, is the hardest part of the day. At the top the three granite towers appear without warning above the glacial lagoon: the view that defines Torres del Paine National Park.
After taking in the landscape, resting and recovering, we begin the descent along the same trail and return to Puerto Natales.
This is a demanding hike with exposure to changing weather conditions. It is recommended for people used to walking in similar conditions. Not suitable for pregnant women or children under 14 years old.

Before you travel
We recommend trekking clothing in three layers, sunglasses and sunscreen, and waterproof footwear. If you have a medical condition, bring your medication with you.
Timings may vary depending on weather conditions and the physical condition of the participants. The excursion may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions such as strong winds, rain or snow.
