In just 60-70 minutes by car from Punta Arenas, you can access the largest “Condorera” in Chilean Patagonia, which hosts an average of 40 to 50 condors during the year. It is located in Estancia Olga Teresa, commune of Green River. The tour begins in a conference room with a coffee break, where a presentation with information about the Andean condor will be shown. The normal visit involves a short walk of less than 500 meters of flat land until we reach below the rock wall that serves as a roost for the condors. Researchers will show then the Condors, using a powerful telescope. In addition, the project of preservation and research of Condors lends the visitors a pair of professional quality binoculars. Simultaneously, the researcher will explain the biology and behaviour of the condors and will use the telescope to show the known and identified individuals with a particular name.
